I just watched Doug's video, so naturally I'm lusting after a manual-equipped Honda Insight. I don't know why, but the though of 70-80 mpg and a stick is almost as appealing as 400 hp and a stick. I could drive so many more places and not feel guilty about fuel costs.

Do they think the rear wiper is an antenna?

How much more efficient is it than a manual-equipped CR-Z?

I think he just cleaned the back window.

There's a manual CR-Z? I think this one is actually more efficient. It's #4 of fueleconomy.gov's highest MPG cars.

All of those Insights were Manual.....

One of the rally teams has a red Insight of this generation, they even used it as a recce car at the Empire State Performance Rally.

Makes sense.

It has a radio, the spare tire, *and* the AC still on it? CLEARLY this guy isn't serious about getting the most out of his Insight.

Yup I was going to say the same thing.

The CR-Z wasn't that efficient. That's why it doesn't sell very well. It isn't sporty and it isn't hybrid efficient.

Where and when is that?

The CR-Z is proudly advertised as the first sporty hybrid with manuél!

Ive seen one of these autocrossed before, and I have to admit I thought it was pretty good for what it was

Although, I'll probably miss the one up by the Adirondacks because I might be going to ferrari challenge at Watkins Glen that weekend.

Yes! I'd love me one too... Aluminium piece of awesome.

They're manual only where I am. At least they were but as almost nobody bought them they've been withdrawn. The Accord is I'm told next for the chop in Europe.

Because S2000 steering wheel, yo.
I love these and want one myself. A fellow autocrosses one and does quite well with it. Tire heater blankets between sessions and all, he is a serious dude.

Ill admit that I was on Craigslist immediately after reading that article too. Seems like it would be a great commuter once you put a decent stereo in. I'm just wondering what maintenance on one is like, they're getting really cheap now and very tempting as a daily driver to keep some miles off my ST.

These are actually reliable as hell and aside from the battery, there's really nothing that goes wrong. And even that is better than most hybrids as far as longevity. I have a friend with an '01 Insight that he loves.

Incorrect. There was a CVT available.
